Guest bedroom design might not be something you think about thoroughly. It is not every day you need to play host so maybe you think it is okay to give it less excellent treatment compared to your master bedroom design.
But just because you rarely have guest, it doesn’t mean that you can take the design of the room lightly. The design of the guest room will reflect your own style and esthetics to your guest. Since you certainly want to impress your guest, you should make sure the guest bedroom doesn’t look like a mismatched teens room design. These are some great tips to create a bedroom for guest that feels warm and welcoming.
Put Adequate Ornaments in the Room
Even though the size of the room is small, decorations are important for guest bedroom design. This bedroom tends to feel colder due to the lack of furniture and also the fact that people rarely sleep there. So, ornaments will be in charge to make the room feels warmer. You don’t have to go all out like when you are making kids room design or baby nursery bedroom design. A simple artistic painting on top of the bed or small vase of flowers on the bedside table is enough to make the room feels friendlier.
Provide a Working Space
The guest certainly will use the bedroom to rest. However, they are not going to sleep all the time. There are times when maybe they need to work or study in private. As a good host that you are, you certainly need to make sure your guest can feel comfortable in doing their activities.
Therefore, it is very important to provide a working space in the guest bedroom. It doesn’t have to be huge or decorated in a fancy loft style bedroom design. A small corner overlooking the window with comfortable desk and chair is more than enough for a guest room.
Carpet is Always a Good Idea
While hardwood floor is classic and beautiful, it might not be the best idea for a guest bedroom. The guest might need to stay awake at night at the bedroom to work. If the bedroom comes with wooden floor, the guest might hesitate to move around at night because he worries the creaking sound will wake you up. So, soft and thick carpet is always the best option for guest bedroom design. Not only it will muffle the creaking sound of the floor, it will also make the room warmer.
