Obviously Baroque in style, this bedroom is indeed grand and over-the-top. An ornate headboard is further enhanced with lavish draping, flanked by wall panels that include generous embellishments of several kinds. Gilded and ornamented nightstands have shorter legs and a more bombe shape, which is of the Baroque era.
Black is not a very common color to be found in most interior decors, especially when it comes to wall colors and especially in bedrooms. But, even so, black can be a very beautiful and bold accent color. There are lots of ways in which you can use black in the décor and still have an airy and bright bedroom. If you insist on painting all your bedroom’s walls black, then you should paint the ceiling white.
Alternatively, the bed can be the only black piece of furniture in the room. This will allow it to stand out by contrasting with the nightstands and dresser. If these are white, then a timeless color combination is established and it can be repeated throughout the room’s décor in a lot of different ways.
The textures you use are also important. In the case of a warm color palette such as the one described above, you can use soft textures and fabrics. You can use silk or cotton. After you’ve decided on a main color scheme for the room you’ll have to add a few accents. They don’t have to follow the same lines. In fact, it’s best if they don’t because this way they stand out and the contrasts become focal points. Accent features such as throw pillows, artwork, decorations, area rugs, etc. should be more colorful. You can opt for bold and vibrant shades that will complement your black furniture beautifully.
